Join me for a beautiful cyanotype workshop for kids ages 8–12! Cyanotyping is one of the earliest forms of photography, using sunlight and specially treated paper to create vivid blue-and-white prints. By placing flowers, leaves, and other natural materials onto the paper and exposing them to the sun, we’ll capture detailed silhouettes and patterns inspired by nature itself. For a behind-the-scenes look at this process, check out this video.

Weather permitting, we’ll begin by foraging for flowers and leaves in the field next door before arranging and pressing them into our designs. Each student will create their own striking 5x7” cyanotype artwork to take home. No experience is needed — just curiosity and creativity!

Class size is intentionally capped at 6 students to create a relaxed, hands-on experience. Classes will take place in my dining room and kitchen studio in South Wheaton, near Arrowhead Golf Club. Because spots tend to fill quickly, I recommend booking groups together when possible.

The week before the event, I will email parents with my address, parking information, and any additional details.

From time to time, I may photograph or film student artwork or close-up shots of hands creating for use on my website, social media, or marketing materials. I will never photograph children’s faces, as I strongly value children’s privacy. By registering for this class, you agree to these terms
